Well to switch over to English (which is so much harder now than Spanish....) We had a wonderful week this week, to start the week off we went to the mall and I found out that they have Which Wich here in the mall, I couldn’t resist. The week flew by, we had lots of fun, we were running around doing LOTS of interviews and then before I knew it I’m here on Monday with 20 weeks left in my mission.... The time is flying by so fast... and it is so weird to think how fast the time is flying by. This week coming up will be really great, we have our huge baptismal service planned "Las Aguas de Culturas" and we have interviews with President.

We are going to be working really hard this week for the stake conference with all of the baptismal dates that we have lined up. From our own ward we have 10 baptismal dates for this Sunday and we took all of our investigators and recent converts to the visitor’s center on Saturday. Everyone loved it so much and the spirit was so strong. We are going to baptizing a family of 6, a single mom, a mom who is now living by herself (she just got divorced), and a mom and 10 year old kid. The weekend is going to be fantastic!! Our President is going to be conducting the huge service, and the two people giving talks are going to be Pres. Whitehead and the Stake President. Everyone is really pumped but it is going to be a lot of hard work this week to make sure everything turns out well. We are planning on have 21 baptisms in the zone but there is a good chance that some of them fall. Well I have lots of pictures to upload so there may be two emails but I love you all and hope you have a great week!

Love,
Elder Adams

Crazy Drunk people (6/15/15)

June 15, 2015
Well this week was a little crazy, just to get it out of the way the crazy story of the week when a drunk guy got in my face trying to call me out and almost hit me... Well my companion and I were contacting a family in the street and as we were contacting the dad some drunk guy walked by trying to talk to me in English, and like most Mexican English I didn’t understand a word he said.... He passed by and we continued contacting the family but he came back about a minute later and started talking to me, interrupting our conversation and calling me a million different swear words asked me why I was here in Mexico. After smelling the strong smell of alcohol on his breath, and getting a little mad at what he was saying to me and the way he was saying it I responded "I’m here to help people leave their drinking problems".... He didn’t like that to much and got up in my face and started blasting me with questions about the bible, about what I believed and things like that. I answered all his questions and bore my testimony. He was pretty bugged (I’m not sure why) when I said that I know that what I share is true. He asked me how I could know that what I share was true? Then he made his hand into a fake gun, but his two fingers up to my forehead and asked:  "what happens if I pull my gun out, put it to your head and BANG, your dead what now idiot!?" Meanwhile this family is just watching this guy lose his cool in my face, they asked him to back off and continue on his way, he went on a rant about "the santa muerte" which is a witch craft they do here in Mexico where they worship death and make convents with the devil. After a while of being in my face, calling me some of the worst things you could ever hear in Spanish, he finally left.

Second crazy story, at 8 at night we were teaching a lady in one of the more dangerous parts of our area. There was a huge party going on outside about 3 streets over. In the middle of our lesson with this investigator we heard about 12 gun shots and then a ton of screaming and shortly after sirens. We finished up our lesson and left. Passing by the street there were cop cars all over, they were talking to some people, but we didn’t see any dead bodies. The lady that we were talking to accepted a baptismal date for the 28th of June.

Lastly, This week we got a new ward mission leader and assistant to the ward mission leader. We are working with the APs with a big family that is going to get baptized the 28th also and we made plans to take all of the recent converts, the big family, and any other investigators to the temple and visitors center this Saturday. It is going to be a great experience, a member from the ward is going to pay to rent out a bus and we are all going to go together. Well that was my crazy week, hopefully I will have some great stories to tell you all this week that comes up. I cant believe I have 21 weeks left.... the mission is flying by. I still can’t believe it. I love you all and hope you all have a great week!

Love,

Elder Adams

Well this week blew by... we spent a lot of time traveling and getting the couple we are teaching married and they got baptized yesterday! They are such a great family, they love the Book of Mormon and study all the time. They are such a great family that I love so much. We had some struggles in our area this week just for the lack of time we had to work in it. We brought a few people to church and found a few new investigators but the week really just flew by, I spent a lot of time studying yesterday because we had the elections, and well being in a dangerous area we got sent to our house early. I love studying the scriptures and I wish I had more time to really dive in and get to know them so much better. I also got Presidents permission to read "The Miracle of Forgiveness" here on the mission and I love the book, it is really harsh and really direct but I love reading it and learning more about the atonement and how much we need it in our own lives. Well I don’t know what more to say... I wrote you like 5 days ago, and in those 5 days the only thing that really happened is that we had a baptism.

Oh, one thing that we are planning that is really cool is something called "Las Aguas de Culturas" my companion and I came up with the sweet idea to have a huge zone baptismal service. The 28th of this month is Stake conference here in Culturas and so we are preparing everyone and making sure everyone has someone to baptize that Sunday. We will all be in the stake center anyways so right after stake conference we are going to have a HUGE baptismal service (we are expecting about 15 people to be ready and baptized together that day). We talked with President Whitehead and our Stake President and both are going to be there and are really excited. We will be able to invite EVERYONE from the stake who is at the conference to the baptismal service and get all the members in the stake pumped to work in the work of salvation.

Well I love you all and hope you have a great week!!

Elder Adams
